How to Reset Your Thyroid to Burn Fat and Activate Your Metabolism

According to Mary Shomon, a large number of people suffer from high cholesterol and depression as a result of thyroid problems. However, doctors are still handing cholesterol medications and antidepressants.

In addition, Shomon agrees with the assessment of Dr. Schwartz and explained that the health of your thyroid actually affects the other parts of the body.

Another doctor, Dr. Emerson said that as a result of our toxic world we are even more likely to develop thyroid disorders created by certain fungi and dangerous toxins.

This doctor did a thorough investigation about the dangers and how these mycotoxins and fungi affect the thyroid gland and has been shown that eating foods high in mycotoxin or sugar, which actually give mold a chance to grow in our organisms can lead to deadly consequences.

Therefore, it is of great importance for you to take control of your own health and optimize your thyroid and other hormone levels by having a balanced diet, exercise regularly and eliminating stress levels.

Dr. Emerson created some questions you can ask yourself and do a simple self-assessment:

  • Am I eating the right foods?
  • Am I consuming water right?
  • Am I practicing enough exercise?
  • Am I getting enough sun?

In addition, another set of questions for self-assessment were created by Dr. Schwartz:

  • Why I can’t sleep at night?
  • You drank too much and, therefore, you woke up in the middle of the night?
  • Do you eat late?
  • Do you eat unhealthy foods regularly?
  • Do you exercise late?
  • Do you sleep with the TV on?

Try to answer honestly, and you would have really taken the first step toward solving your health problems related to any thyroid disorder.

So here are few very important tips for how to restart your thyroid:

To restart your thyroid you should combine iodized salt and selenium rich foods such as:

  • Brazil nuts
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Fish (wild salmon, halibut, sardines, flounder)
  • Shellfish (oysters, mussels, shrimp, clams, scallops)
  • Meat (Beef, liver, lamb, pork)
  • Poultry (chicken, turkey)
  • Eggs (up to 3 per day)

  • Veggies (Artichokes, Arugula, Asparagus, Avocado, Bean Sprouts, Beet Greens, Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Celery, Chives, Collard Greens, Cucumber)

  • Avoid Sugar and Sweeteners
  • Avoid Refined Grains
  • Avoid Beans and Legumes
  • Avoid Beer

Also make sure to avoid:

  • low fat diets
  • very low carbohydrate diets (or at least be very cautious with these types of diets)
  • avoid eating more than 6-8 servings of Goitrogenic foods per week and these foods should be steamed instead of eaten raw.

And for the end you must start doing low intensity exercise for at least 1 hour per day like:

  • Walking
  • Hiking
  • Biking
  • Swimming

And after a month start doing high intensity exercise from 1 to 3 times per week, like:

  • Body Weight Exercises

  1. Before I got my thyroid symptoms, I was exercising 2 hours a day 7 days a week, drank nothing but water all day long, ate only good foods, stopped eating sweetened foods, worked on our yard daily. How could I have gotten a thyroid disease if I was doing everything that’s suggested up in the article? I was practicing all what I said for over a month, went down two sizes but didn’t lose any weight because I started weight lifting turning what would of been flabby into muscle. I felt so great and healthy I was actually addicted to exercising and actually looked forward to getting at it each morning, then boom! Outta nowhere I couldn’t lift my head up off the bed, for four days I laid there thinking I had caught a bug, the fifth day I physically had to make myself get up to take a shower, after a several more weeks of this feeling, I went to the doctors where I was diagnosed with thyroid problems… I had gained 40 pounds in 4 months but not from eating, just happened and it’s very depressing after all the effort I put in into losing weight and getting fit…..I’m now 100 pounds overweight and I hate it….and no matter what I do I can’t lose the weight! I just keep gaining
